It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with San Sebastián. After about 10 minutes wandering through the streets, Maddie and I both decided that we were sold on this city. It seems to have everything: beaches, mountains, grand architecture, tree-lined hiking paths, plus some really fantastic food…
One of the highlights of our visit, in my opinion, was when we stood on top of Monte Igueldo, one of the two mountains that sit on either side of the Playa de la Concha. We looked out over the turquoise bay and the far-off mountains that surround the city, as well as all the way down the Spanish coastline. It was stunning and exhilarating!
We hiked down the mountain on a road that wound along the lush, green cliff side, and afterwards, cooled off with a swim in the sea.
Later we visited several tapas bars, which are very popular in San Sebastián, and loaded up on the delicious pintxos. I feel so fortunate that I had the chance to travel north and to explore yet another region of this amazing country!
